Summer time means bathing suits of all sizes, shapes, colors, patterns, and textures! I easily have over fifteen different bathing suit pieces that I love to mix and match all vacation long. Here are some of my favorite bathing suit trends that I've spotted this summer.

americana structured top and high rise bikini bottoms// patterned cut-out one piece//
                                                           cutout top and fringe bottoms

What are some of your favorite bathing suit styles?

Let's go to the (South) Beach, Let's Get Away

Sorry for the lack of posts these past two days but I was MIA in well, MIA. My family and I took a little trip down to South Beach to shop, eat, and enjoy some sunshine. I love Miami, and in particular the South Beach area because it's so eclectic. As soon as you take a few steps on the sidewalk you are assaulted with the sounds, smells, and sights of the dozens of cafes that line the street across from the entrances to the beach.

My parents and I ate at a little place called The News Cafe. The combination of news publications from around the world, the funky atmosphere, and the delicious menu made me fall in love with the place. I had a bagel and the biggest bowl of fresh strawberries you could imagine.

While we were eating, my dad got a pleasant surprise. He was awarded the title of "Best Sportscaster" in the Miami area. The look on his face when he found out that he won, after not even knowing that he was in the running, was one in a million.

After our breakfast, the three of us walked further down the street, and visited Versace's old mansion on South Beach. After many failed renovations-such as a nightclub, cooking club, and museum- the house is now closed off. However, you can still the beautiful architecture of the original design. I wonder what the inside looked like back in the day...? It must have been so elegant and beautiful.

Finally, we drove over to Lincoln Road Mall, to grab a Frozen Hot Chocolate from Serendipity 3, and than strolled around the shops. Not bad for a lazy summer day.

What do you do on your summer days?
Where is your favorite place to people watch?

Speaking of inspiration...

In my opinion, inspiration is everywhere. Whether you're vacationing to a faraway country, or staying at home this summer, there are so many different avenues to explore. All you have to do is look. For me, this means hopping on the highway and cruising to one of many beaches just miles from my home. Sure, I love going to the volleyball nets to play with friends and work on my tan; more importantly though, I love the feeling I get while enjoying the sunshine. There's just something about the beauty of the nature, the endless expanse of mysterious ocean, or the vast spread of sandy shores. It always gives me the urge to explore and discover new things.

If the seaside isn't an option for you, go to the city! Look at the architecture, study the people walking around. Often times, there are some unique sights you wouldn't normally give any attention to. Yet, if you just slow down, maybe grab a coffee at a little cafe and people watch, you're bound to come across something that is well, inspiring. I can't  count the number of times I've seen someone in a beautifully put together outfit walk by and thought, "Why didn't I think of trying that?" There is definitely no shame in seeing someone else's look and making it your own.

And finally, if all else fails, grab a laptop and surf the web. Let the pictures you come across take you on a "mini-vacation". I've never been to Paris, but I still love to dream of visiting and immersing myself in Parisian culture. On the other hand, I have been to the fabulous New York City, but I am dying to go back. Sometimes, I find myself watching totally unrealistic but still fabulous shows like "Gossip Girl" and imagining that I am Serena or Blair reigning over the steps of the Met or being whisked away in a limo to some fancy event. I mean, who wouldn't want to experience that? More realistically though, I enjoy reading magazines or reading blogs that feature street style in big cities. I think these are wonderful places to get inspired and try out new things.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is a whole wide world out there, and as people, we should seize every opportunity we have to experience it. Along the way, hopefully you can pick up some inspirations from the art, culture, fashion, architecture, and lifestyle that surrounds you.

xoxo
